Dominga (DOCUMENT JOURNAL)

(Short Film)

Dominga doesn’t believe in categories. Not in music. Not in identity. Not in life. Best known as the founder of the cult electronic band Föllakzoid and now based in New York and Berlin, Dominga has spent the last two decades dismantling the structures that once tried to confine her: artist, woman, trans, musician, director, performer.

“When you get rid of categories, the prejudice disappears.”

Her work dissolves genre, expectation, and convention, inviting listeners into trance states where time expands, the self dissolves, and a shared frequency emerges. One that transcends the weight of definition.

In this film, Dominga reflects on what it means to strip away the imposed and return to what’s elemental. A meditation on distillation, authenticity, and sonic transformation, this is a portrait of an artist whose presence lingers like a reverberating sound, refusing resolution.
